Jules Rawlinson, FMRL is a structured improvisation of layered processes that investigates the fleeting nature of frequency modulation coupled with feedback networks and comparators. Transient gestures and grain are shaped out of what would otherwise be a drone or broadband noise. Sonic material is generated using analogue and digital modular sources.
Dara Etefaghi, ‘AntiProcess:Bonding’ is an audio-visual performance that is part of a game currently under development. Centring on a fictional virtual world, it aims to create a model that abstracts reality. It is a schizophrenic simulation of an ambiguous and chaotic place that adapts to the player’s actions. The performance presents the ‘initial state’ of the work where the forms are pure, still somewhat orderly, on the cusp of something more entropic.
Tom Mudd, Contingent Events: 20 live sets in a single performance. You, the audience are invited and encouraged to participate via the red button, which chooses a completely different performance system whenever it is pressed, each as specific and as arbitrary as the last.
Get down for 7:30pm to hear a demo of Funktion One’s soundsystem.
